I have been longing for quite some time to have it and today I bought one: a Mark Knopfler signature Fender Stratocaster. Absolutely the best guitar I have owned so far.

My new apartment looks great and has a very convenient location. It is 2 miles from the office, 20 blocks from the ocean and beach, next door to a huge supermarket which is open 24/7(!) and some restaurants around the corner (Starbucks, Sushi place, subs, taco place).

Happy New Year to everyone! All the best for 2008!!!

I celebrated New Year's Eve in Philadelphia (great city!). Together with some co-workers and friends we went to a party in a nice venue organized by a singles organization. It was a great party! Interesting fact is that people here tend to party at the end of the year 'to say goodbye to 2007' (party started at 8 PM), whereas in Amsterdam I am more used to 'welcome the new year' (parties starting after midnight).

My year will continue very exciting: coming Saturday I will move to Los Angeles! Countdown has started... again...

Washington, DC

This weekend I went to Washington, DC. As the government 'headquarters', this city has a complete different vibe to it than e.g. New York. It is a great place to visit white an enormous number of museums and monuments.
